Who we are
Sophie breeds traditional, rare breed chickens and also sells hybrid laying hens in various colours. Poultry keeping is our hobby and we breed a limited number of birds per year. We are not a large commercial venture but we do have surplus youngstock and adult birds for sale. Hatching eggs are avaliable in season.
She lives in Skibbereen, West Cork with her husband, 2 small boys, 2dogs, 2 cats, 10 ducks and lots and lots of beautiful chickens!
All our birds are free ranging, some too much!, and we try to be as organic as possible. We recommend Verm-X as a healthy, natural protection from all known internal parasites.
Sophie's husband builds and paints chicken houses with the help of a friend. They have a few tried and tested designs but are open to new ideas and suggestions. In theory, anything is possible and in any colour.
